Upstream Public Health, Partners for Hunger-Free Oregon and the American Heart Association co-released "Oregon's Healthy School Food Report Card" today.
The report looks at Oregon as a whole, emphasizes the importance of school meals, and assesses how we're doing as a state at ensuring that Oregon kids get the nutrition they need to grow, thrive, and concentrate. It highlights four items where Oregon is "outstanding," four that are "satisfactory," and three that "need improvement." There's a particular focus on things that the Oregon legislature has done (or not done,) but also some recognition of statewide trends.
